Can i use veggie oil for conctipation?

i usually dont have regular bowel movements, but today i tried. im pushing and pushing, and it actuall hurts going back in. i heard that sticking your finger inside and breaking it up is good. i dont have vaseline.can i use baby oil or veggie oil?
