Whats going on with my acne?

I keep getting the SAME bumps around my lips.... my mom says it could be the lip gloss I wear but even when I wear vaseline these bumps appear. I am not sexually active in anyway so we can rule out herpes but I really need to know wtf is going on with my body because these bumps make me feel so unattractive. And they hurt alittle bit.
