Why are me and my wife dependent on vaseline petroleum jelly for sex?

we have been married since 3 months nd since our first day have to use vaseline petroleum jelly as lube. Its nearly impossible to attempt without lube. Dat becomes painful fr her. Why r v so dependent on vaseline? My question is does the entire world use vaseline or sum lube for sex how r they managing without lube? Wats the way to leave vaseline? And if lube is so necessart then pls suggest otherr lubes sometimes vaseline is annoying. We tried saliva but didnt like it. Thanks
